Pete Robins

A DJ since the 1960’s (and it shows!), Pete is well known for his eclectic musical tastes, and for interest in Pinot Grigiot. Over the years, Pete has played and sung in a number of blues and rock bands, as well as singing a few sea-shanties, and is currently rehearsing a new band as we speak. Pete has been closely involved with the Wareham Music Festival since day one and will be presenting a number of acts over the weekend.
Geoff Payne

Geoff has been performing in folk clubs for some considerable time. He has taken part in folk and shanty festivals from Liverpool to Falmouth and in Europe from Holland to Poland.

Geoff is looking forward to MC'ing the Open Mic session at Wareham Music Festival. "I like the eclectic music styles you tend to get at this sort of event. You can put one person on who sings a traditional folk song and the next you are introducing a Jazz combo! But the best of all is that it gives the average person a chance to perform on a stage and that is where the best music comes from"

Geoff is presently appearing with the Time and Tide production "Who's Afeard" telling the stories of Dorset sailors, soldiers and smugglers in traditional and contemporary song. You can see them live at Swanage Folk Festival on Sunday 11th September 2011.

He loves calling for local ceilidhs, and had many compliments on his pleasant and friendly style.
Chris Hall

Our caller for the barn dance and ceilidh is the world (well Purbeck!) - renowned Chris Hall, leader of the local Mummers, Sword-dancer, Shanty Singer and teller of silly tales

Chris is a man who wants to keep the old traditions alive. He is a Rapper dancer with the Dorset Buttons, a member of Wareham Whalers and f the Purbeck Mummers.

Malcolm Cameron

Malcolm has been a DJ and presenter for nearly 40 years. He currently runs a company specialising in technical conferences, based in Broadstairs in Kent.

However he maintains his involvement in rock music, with regular DJ appearances.

He is an acknowledged authority on American mainstream rock music, and British beer.

Malcolm is coming to Wareham to help us out with MC duties over the weekend and in his other role as the chairman of the Don’t dye your hair green – look what happened to me Society!
